Che cosa è o che cosa sono le "analogiche_metamorfosi"?
Un percorso di ricerca sulle immagini che va oltre la definizione di uno stile personale.
Un ostinato tentativo di capire fino a che punto possiamo spingerci nella relazione che intercorre tra
l'uomo e la tecnologia, la natura e l'artificio adottando un approccio che sia il più possibile "low-tech".
Un percorso iniziato nel 2009 focalizzato sulle immagini digitali nell'intento
di agire materialmente su di esse per ristabilire un
contatto fisico.
Nelle immagini digitali l'elemento comune che lega i due mondi (materico e digitale) è il
segnale video che utilizziamo come materia
sulla quale intervenire direttamente senza nessuna
mediazione di altre tecnologie se non quelle necessarie a trasmettere il segnale.
Quando parliamo di contatto intendiamo realmente il
contatto delle mani con il segnale video
che rendiamo materia plasmabile generando
nelle immagini trasformazioni che abbiamo denominato "analogiche_metamorfosi".
Ma non è sempre stato così. Nel corso degli anni per ottenere le "analogiche_metamorfosi" abbiamo sperimentato
diverse soluzioni e solo a partire dal 2019, con la partecipazione a Share Prize, abbiamo deciso di adottare
esclusivamente il contatto delle mani per la manipolazione del segnale video.
What is or what are the "analogiche_metamorfosi"?
A research path on images that goes beyond the definition of a personal style.
A stubborn attempt to understand how far we can go in the relationship between man and technology,
nature and artifice by adopting an approach that is as "low-tech" as possible.
A journey that began in 2009 focused on digital images with the aim of materially acting on them
to re-establish a physical contact.
In digital images the common element that binds the two worlds (material and digital) is the
video signal that we use as a material on which to intervene directly without
any mediation of other technologies other than those necessary to transmit the signal. When we talk about contact we really mean the
contact of the hands
with the video signal that we make mouldable matter
by generating in the images transformations that we have called "analogiche_metamorfosi".
But that wasn't always the case. Over the years to obtain the "analogiche_metamorfosi" we have experimented with different solutions and only starting from 2019, with the participation in Share Prize, we have decided to exclusively adopt hand contact for the manipulation of the video signal.

Ma come si realizza il processo delle "analogiche_metamorfosi"?
Convertendo in bianco e nero le immagini digitali con un software sviluppato in
OpenCV che consente di alterare i parametri del dithering secondo Floyd-Steinberg ottenendo le Variazioni Digitali (DV).
Quando poi tocchiamo il segnale video (e quindi le immagini in B/N) con le mani si realizza la
metamorfosi, appaiono dei disegni che il digitale non riesce ad evidenziare,
analogico e digitale si rafforzano vicendevolmente.
Le "analogiche_metamorfosi" sono possibili grazie alla conduttanza
elettrica del corpo umano determinata dall'alta percentule
di acqua di cui siamo composti. La conduttanza elettrica varia in funzione dei nostri stati emotivi e delle condizioni climatiche contribuendo a trasferire nelle immagini una parte di noi,
della nostra storia e dell'ambiente in cui viviamo. Così l'acqua, scomparsa dal processo di produzione delle immagini digitali,
torna ad esserne parte sia sul piano fisico che simbolico.
But how is the process of "analogiche_metamorfosi" realized?
Converting digital images to black and white with a software developed in OpenCV
that allows you to alter the parameters of the dithering according to Floyd-Steinberg obtaining the Digital Variations (DV).
Then when we touch the video signal (and therefore the images in B / W) with the hands the
metamorphosis is realized, drawings appear that the digital cannot highlight,
analogue and digital reinforce each other.
The "analogiche_metamorfosi" are possible thanks to the electrical conductance of the human body determined by the high percentage of water we are made of.
The electrical conductance varies according to our emotional states and climatic conditions, helping to transfer a part of us, of our history and of the environment in which we live in the images.
Thus water, having disappeared from the process of producing digital images, returns to be part of it both on a physical and symbolic level.
